Hey friends! Welcome to our blog. A little about us – we (Lindsey and Danielle) came together first as neighbors and then friends and thought lets take what we love and share it with you. Aren’t you lucky people…ha! So sit back and enjoy. But first a little about the both of us below…
I’m a photographer by day at Polka Dot Umbrella Photography where I focus on taking pictures of squishy babies and super fun families. I love art (former art teacher) and being creative and have a little thing for kids fashion.
More importantly, I am a wife to a pretty fab husband that cooks for me and also a mom to 3 children that keep my life full of spunk. Which might be a nice way of saying our days are sometimes a little crazy and may end in wine. My 6 year old, Lydia, the sensitive one who lives in leggings — as in we do not own any pants with buttons. Hates all things flow-y and never wants her hair cut. But she loves to layer and is a master twirler so I think we will keep her around. Joey is 4 and has the most fabulous boy hair, loves a good blazer and gives me kisses all.day.long. Not sure how I got so lucky. AND our Janie is the red headed wild one with a bonus dimple and would probably live in her Frozen shirt if I let her. Don’t worry – we are working on her plus she’s only 2. 🙂 But she gallops everywhere which is hilarious and is my accessory queen so all is forgiven when she doesn’t want to wear the fur vest or polka dot boots I bought for her.
I’m an Industrial Designer by day (just a fancy term for product designer) specializing in outdoor furniture and decor. I’ve been designing for more than 10 years! Eek! Some designers may say that’s taboo but I’ve found a niche that I really love. I work for the industry leader Brown Jordan. I get to collaborate with super talented people on a daily basis AND travel the world. A dream job really!
In my free time (joke) I’m passionate about interior decorating, art, fashion and am a total product junkie. I’m a spender and not a saver, a lefty, and drive my husband insane with my messy ways. I’m married to a wonderful man name Andy, who is a typical type A personality. I think we balance each other out well. He keeps my car spotless, picks up dirty coffee cups out of my home office, constantly breaks down cardboard boxes from my online shopping and is a single parent for two-week stretches when I’m traveling for work. Most of my friends and family think he is a saint. I agree. We have two beautiful little girls Elsa (3) and Clara (8 mos). For the record, Elsa was born two years before the movie frozen came out! Our life is constant chaos but somehow we manage to survive and find time to enjoy it.
Oh wow Danielle I taught Art as well for 7 years and now just do photography!!! I have been following your Polka Dot page for a long time and I had no idea:)
